Food tech startup Julienne Bruno has received £5m for its plant-based cheese alternative, which brings its total investment to more than £6m.
Julienne Bruno currently offers three kinds of dairy-free cheeses and dry-aged vegetables as it looks to tap into a growing alternative meat and diary market.
Lead investors in the alternative cheese maker’s round were Cherry Ventures, Outsized Ventures, Seedcamp and Nicoya. Julienne Bruno’s investment comes after its £1m pre-seed led by Seedcamp in February last year.

Its replacement cheese is stocked in Selfridges London, Holland & Barrett and Whole Foods Market.
The London-based company was founded in 2020 and now has 16 employees. Production of its food is done in-house, also in London.
“At remarkable speed – less than a year of development – the Julienne Bruno team has created and brought the best tasting dairy-free, plant-based cheese to market,” said Christian Meermann, founding partner at Cherry Ventures.
Fellow food tech Hoxton Farms last month landed £20m to open a pilot facility to produce cultivated fat from animal stem cells.
