Switzerland-based Batmaid is part of Batgroup, which provides a 360° cleaning solution to those in need while fighting the black market on as many fronts as possible. Now, the platform that lets users hire preselected home cleaners has secured €23 million (nearly £20 million) in Series B funding.
London expansion plans
The investment round was led by Aevis Victoria and follows the first round of funding it raised last spring from Bâloise, the Investis Group and ACE & Company. Batmaid will use the investment to accelerate its international expansion into 21 cities across 15 countries including London.
While the Batmaid platform is currently live in Switzerland, Luxembourg, Paris, Milan, and Warsaw, it will launch in London, Germany, Belgium, and Austria, and more in 2021 and 2022.

Antoine Hubert, AEVIS’ Delegated Administrator, said: “This acquisition is part of our investment strategy in innovative and digital companies active in personal services. Batmaid has a proven track record in Switzerland and we believe in its vision and business model. ”
Michel Reybier, AEVIS’ administrator and co-shareholder, added, “Our goal is to contribute to the creation of long-term value for promising companies in the field of personal services. With Batmaid, our aim is to contribute to the emergence of a European leader in home wellness.”
Eyes to grow further
Founded by Andreas Schollin-Borg and joined by Andrew Skinner-Shah, Batmaid intends accelerate its activities with projects in Switzerland, including the Batmaid Club or Batmaid Dry services.
Currently, the company employs a team of 200 across its Lausanne headquarters and Zurich, Lugano, Warsaw, Paris, Milano and Luxembourg offices. Also 4,000 salaried cleaning agents serve over 70,000 customers throughout Switzerland. Batmaid applies a rigorous process of pre-selection of professionals while offering administrative support and quality assistance to its clients.
