UK cybersecurity startup Hack The Box secures £8M funding from US and European investors

Hack The Box, a cybersecurity training startup originally from Greece, and with headquarters in Kent in England – has raised $10.6 million (nearly £7.7 million) in Series A funding recently.

Eyes to expand business

The funding round was led by Paladin Capital Group along with participation from other investors including Osage University Partners, and Brighteye Ventures and existing investors Marathon Venture Capital.

The investment will support the company’s growth as it intends to expand its presence in the US and global markets. Also, it wants to expand its product portfolio for both individuals and businesses. Hack The Box has a relentless focus on product quality and rapid innovation.

Cybersecurity training accessible to everyone

Hack The Box was founded in 2017 by James Hooker, Aris Zikopoulos, and Haris Pylarinos to make cybersecurity training accessible to everyone. Now, Hack The Box is one of the largest hacker communities in the world with over 500,000 members in the platform from diverse IT backgrounds. Players are challenged to learn by attacking virtual vulnerable labs and fine-tune their adversarial security skills in a gamified, simulated and safe test environment.

Already, more than 800 organisations (including governments and Fortune 500 companies across every industry vertical) and 550 academic institutions from all around the world have joined the platform to level up their adversarial capabilities.

Hack The Box’s 360° product suite offers exploratory and guided training, real-time adversarial gaming, a cloud-based security OS, advanced analytics, targeted talent acquisition and assessment, and astounding community engagement. It introduces new products, including the recent Hack The Box Academy, which surpassed 250,000 visitors in its first three months. The new learning platform is driven by a promising product roadmap that entails top-notch training content releases and groundbreaking features, aiming to place Academy as the new industry standard in cybersecurity training and certification.
